Sirius-XM Considers Filing for Bankruptcy
Sirius-XM is seriously considering filing for bankruptcy. I am about as far away from surprised as humanly possible. In fact, I’ve been waiting for this for months, as I’m sure a lot of other people have. Despite charging people to listen to it’s programming, satellite radio has never made money for anyone. Sirius-XM closed at a mighty $0.11 a share yesterday. How can it even go that low? You’d have to pay more than that for Washington Mutual.
If they do go ahead and file for bankruptcy, the immediate question is what happens to Howard Stern? I suspect an overhyped return to terrestrial syndication and a $100 million + bidding war involving companies who are currently firing employees by the thousands to save their way into profitability.
