World Cup Internment Camps

Most of the world is glued to their televisions watching the World Cup. There are, however, two distinct classes of people who are not. First, Americans don’t care about ball kicking and 0-0 ties, so they are watching baseball, Law and Order re-runs or even at work on weekday afternoons while metro-sexual athletes from Europe are doing what they do in South Africa.

The other group that isn’t watching the World Cup are the poor in South Africa. Not only can they not afford to buy tickets to attend the games or fine Southeast Asian manufactured televisions to watch the games in the comfort of their meager residences, in fact, they are being evicted from their homes and interned in tin shacks.

Soccer, the beautiful game of friendship and brotherhood seems to have left the most fragile and broken behind while it showcases to the world how uplifting it is.

Here’s a link to FIFA’s website where they claim to “use the power of football to achieve sustainable social development.”

Here’s another link, from the Win with Africa page where FIFA “sense’s a duty to assist the continent of Africa beyond the world of sport.”

Perhaps I’m misinterpreting their intentions. All that stuff seems to me like it means they want to help lift up the neglected and forgotten in the world through the Beautiful Game. It seems like they are trying to bring them hope and build a better functioning society. However, now I’m thinking it just means taking away everything they have and relocating them to a different ghetto where nobody has to see or worry about them anymore.

Somebody should warn the 35 million poor people in Brazil that the World Cup is landing on them in 4 years. Start getting your stuff together, tent cities are lovely this time of year.

Tonight on the Radio

Listen the the radio show tonight at midnight on 1210 WPHT.

Here’s what I have for tonight so far…

Earlier today, Eric Holder revealed that the Pakistani Taliban were responsible for the failed Times Square bombing. It’s 8 1/2 years after September 11 and the problems are still spreading out from the same place, the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, but we’re still not really doing anything serious to stop it.

The World Cup starts on June 11. South Africa is getting everything it needs to be ready when balls start being kicked. That includes prostitutes, and bad songs by Shakira. Right now parts of the world that care about soccer are apoplectic about how bad this song is. I agree, but it’s for soccer, what did you expect? Check out the official video and another along with another video from Shakira to give you something to compare it to.

Kim Kardashian may still be recovering from her brush with death after colliding with Justin Bieber at the White House Correspondents dinner, and the Russians going soft on pirates.

FIFA is an International Drug Ring

Yo man, whatchu need?

A cartel of high level soccer players and officials have been arrested while trying to smuggle 1300 lbs of cocaine from Argentina to Spain. I’m so surprised, who would ever have suspected the mighty game of soccer has a seedy, devious underside that includes narcotics crime? Not me. Soccer is probably more corrupt than boxing. 80% of the games finish in a 0-0 tie. I can’t factually determine if there is a link between that fact and corruption, because I can’t stay awake through an entire match. But I strongly suspect it to be the case. So really, anything is possible from these degenerates. I demand a full investigation, led by Archibald Cox, to determine how deep this cocaine ring runs and what the implications on the integrity of the sport.

You may be stunned by this, but you must act quicky. If your son or daughter plays soccer or closely associates with anyone that plays soccer, they may be at risk of falling under the influence of drug smugglers. They may even be smuggling drugs themselves. Don’t let your precious snowflake become another statistic.
